This February marked one year since we started our Pen to Papher journey. To celebrate this milestone, we wanted to share some things that we have learned in this past year.

It is officially 2024 and we are kicking the new year off with something exciting! As we approach our first “blog-versary” next month, we have been thinking about how we want to refer to our Pen to Papher community. We believe that nomenclature matters. The typical terminology of “subscriber” and “follower” just do not seem fitting for our mission.

So the question is, will you be our pen pal?!

If there is one thing we all have in common, it is that we all have family. The difference is how close we are to them. The reasons we may not be close to our family are many: disagreement, lifestyle differences, estrangement, physical distance, etc.

How many times have we caught ourselves saying - “I wish I was in the (happy, successful, wise) phase of my life.” Or when you look back at your life you noticed how quickly you skipped certain phases (good or bad) of life.

With Day 4 of our guided gratitude series today we are being grateful for this Phase of Life. It’s a moment to just reflect on the now and to count our blessings and really enjoy the growth that we have had and the plans that God has for our future.

We recently heard a pastor say, "Money isn't the root of all evil. The love of money is the root of all evil." That explains why money is talked about over 2,000 times in the Bible. That's more than faith and prayer combined! God knew that having money would make us just as vulnerable to sin as not having money. In other words, no one is immune to the temptation of putting money over God.
