Guided Gratitude: Health

Welcome to Day 1 of our Guided Gratitude series leading up to Thanksgiving Day!

Daily Gratitude Prompt

Start by saying "Today, I am grateful for health.” This might be easy for some of you and hard for others. Which group can you relate to? Do you look at your health as a good thing or a struggle?

  • If your answer is a good thing:

Can you find opportunities to help others who are not in good health? Start by checking in with someone you know who is struggling with their health.

  • If your answer is a struggle:

Can you find things to be grateful for in the process? Are you grateful for your doctor? Medicine? A second chance? Time to rest? The person who goes with you to your appointment? The elevator at the doctor’s office?

Daily Gratitude Scripture

Verse 1: Psalm 73:26 NIV

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Verse 2: Exodus 23:25 NIV

“Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you”

Gratitude in Practice: Meditate on these scriptures today. Dive deeper by researching the original translation or re-writing them over and over (this is called “scripture writing”).

Daily Gratitude Prayer

Lord, hear my prayer.

Thank you for this day that I have been given. I look to the Heavens as I inhale, then I exhale gratitude for the sky above me and the breath that I have just taken. Help me to remember that everything on this Earth is temporary and my best days are yet to come.

Amen
